virtual cd rom

you know how on windows when playing games (warcraft 3 to be exact) sometimes you're too lazy to put and take the cd out each time so you use a virtual cd rom to play the game without putting the cd in. i was wondering if that is possible with linux, especially along with winex

what i mean is having winex installed with warcraft 3, and be able to play without putting the cd in each time.

Well I would imagine that there is a config file somewhere which specifies the mountpoint of the CD for the game. Have a look, and if you find one, just change it to the directory where you have copied the CD.
Otherwise it may mount a particular /dev/ (eg. /dev/hdc /dev/scd0) In which case you could get around the problem by setting this to a physical partition which holds the CD data. The only problem is that you would need a dedicated partition for each game you run.
