vim suddenly changed colors???


hi,

i am doing a script in vim (from the terminal, NOT from the GUI) and all of a sudden (i don't know what i did or what happened), one keyword suddenly changed its background color to the point that i cannot read it anymore. how do i revert it back to its original color?

wait, i know now why it changed... i pressed <shift> + #

the problem now is, how am i going to get it back to normal?

use :help v_u
It will show you how to set up custom color configurations to colors you can see

Is it possible that you only pressed #. In that case you searche for the word under the cursor. With certain color scheme + colordepth combinations the hilight of the search would just make it 'disapear'.

Try searching for something completely different (e.g.: /asdf) if you keyword reapears all is well, you just need to adjust the highlighting of search results or turn them of. Try :help highlight, :highlight and :help hlsearch.
