Vim scrolling down when opening new pane in tmux
 

When I have a vim buffer open and i open a new pane vertically in tmux, vim scrolls down few lines.
I didn't really find anything from google and i have no idea on how to debug this..
It's not a big problem but it's annoying, so i'd be glad if somebody has a solution :)
The terminal i'm using is urxvt if that makes any difference

I have no idea, but I do have a suggestion. Test it in a couple of other terminals, whatever you have lying around on that box, to see if it happens under them. That will indicate whether the issue lies with the particular terminal or with tmux.

Afterthought: Does the cursor change position in the vim file or does the display itself shift while the cursor remains on the same line?

I doubt it's relevant, but it couldn't hurt to know what distro/version you are running.

Tried with terminator too and same problem. Vi also does the same. Nano doesn't though..

I messed about with it a bit the other night. The vim display did not seem to shift, but I would hardly call what I did "testing." I'll try to look at it again tomorrow.
