Vim removing auto moving while searching '/' ?

Hello,

The new VIM feature of moving the cursor while searching with '/' is really not useable, to my opinion.

How can one remove this new feature, with ~/.vimrc?

Thank you

What version of vim are you using? That bit of information might be useful to persons who find this question intriguing.

On a search-by-search-basis, just type : before /, for example when searching for the term vim, without wanting to jump to the first occurrence you would type
Code:
:/vim
If you want to disable this behavior altogether add this to your vimrc:
Code:
set noincsearch
