Viewing MPEG2 on a Redhat 8 System?


I need a viewer (or better yet, an editor) for MPEG2 video that will run on RedHat 8. Anyone who could point me in the right direction would be appreciated!

This pretty much allows viewing of the widest selection of video types. Also, mencoder (part of the mplayer package) has some limited editing capabilities, pretty much just compression. Although you can also cut credits and things off with it as well.

Otherwise, look into something called cinerella for editing:

apt-get install mplayer mplayer-skins
Yes, this is on a Redhat box.
