Viewing .exr, .png image files and sequences

After a google search tried installing gwenview but doesn't seem to work for me.
Can anyone recommend their favorite application for viewing .exr, .png files and sequences?

i never heard of .exr files, and what are "sequences"?

what kind of exr images ???
i use 32bit floatingpoint exr images and for them i use Nip2 or gmic
now the exr format can be half float or full float and RGBA or GRAY

or the DEVELOPMENT 2.9 gimp ONLY!!! for exr's that are full float and have values between 0 and 1 )


as to the png's
are they 8 bit or 16 bit png's ?
again i use the same three above programs
