View Thumbnails in Konqueror

I'm running fedora 1 with kde 3.1.4 and using konqueror. When i take pictures from my digital camera and view it in Konqueror I only see icons. I want to be able to see a thumbnail of the image. It works right now, but only after i open the file and save it with the gimp. How can i get it to show thumbnails before resaving in the gimp?

Chances are that your version of Konqueror can't
handle EXIF information (I don't know whether any/which
version does) - saving with Gimp strips that info.
You may want to look at some sort of batch-conversion
that you can run over your directories to get rid of EXIF
stuff ... (Warning, doing this repeatedly to the same file
will deteriorate image quality significantly).

Cheers,
Tink

Try using nautilus with the following comand:

nautilus --no-desktop "/home/youruseraccount/yoursubdirectory"

That way nautilus won't take over the desktop and will just launch as a gnome app within KDE.

That worked for me as well, now any ideas on a permanent solution to avoid having to type in the terminal command everytime?

Thanks!
