view text file in hex under kdevelop

How to view a text file in hex format under kdevelop 3.04?
I want to find out whether there is special character in the file.
Linux version 2.6.8-gentoo-r4
KDE 3.2.2

Check if you have the oc command. You can display a file in octal, hex, or decimal.
