Video Servers, Motion Detection

Hello All,

I need to build a server that can stream out 4 stream of video while also doing motion detection on all streams. Is there open source software out there for this?

Also, if there is a video server out there that supports multiple streams, would it be possible to keep streaming while detecting motion?

Lastly, what kind of cards for linux support multiple streams of video?
