video player & music


hi......
about video players....
sorry but i tried but without the same performance of WMP
this to see DVD films ......
i tried kaffeine ,mplayer
the film plays slow and the voice is often interrupted ....
what are users experience about video players...and
another additional question: (to do not open too much threads...)
is there some application to extract music from DVD ?
is there some application to copy a dvd film to many cd ?
(i have a dvd player but not a dvd writer...it only writes on cd...)

Do you have hardware acceleration on your video card enabled (or are you sure you are using the right driver for your video card)? A lot of people complain about slow video playback are running nvidia cards without using the proper driver, which runs your video at a snail's pace. Let us know.

(i'm dual booting)
win xp:
trident video accelerator cyberblade xp ai1 4022.016b.22icdnp

Mandrake
module ...trident cyberblade (generic)
description cyberblade/XP/dstn/ai1

this was what aitomatically mandrake detected at installation time...

about slow motion of video......ok we can freeze the problem but...
i nedd to know if there are products to extract the
audio files from dvd films....

......to azucaro....& the other that can give me more info...

i checked the kernel compilation and the acceleration option for the trident card was not enabled....
so it seems i have to recompile the kernel....
the main question before proceeding is...

i'm using kernel 2.6.8 and the menuconfig inform me that in this kernel release the trident acceleration is new and experimental...

so......

what is the first kernel release available providing
a stable trident acceleration......?
