video editing

What are some good video editing programs for linux that allow for audio shifts and what not...comparable to adobe premier. I know of cinerella but doesn't it require its own workstation? I have a 3.0 ghz w/ ht and 1 gig ram and plenty of disk space. LIVES doesn't allow audio shifts does it/

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

cinelerra (not cinerella) is just a standard loadable application, doesn't require dedicated anythings.

Have you used it? Is it pretty comparable to Adobe?

cinelerra is a cadillac compared to a Adobe ford pinto...
I think a more comparable solution is Kino.
