Question Video chat (Voip)options

In linux video chat seems to be something that's hit and miss (from what i've seen) What I would like to know though is, just how many clients are there with working video and voice support (please list working protocols) I do this because skype support for linux has been spotty at best, and I detest skype's entire "supernode" policy.
(Please note which ones are relatively newbie friendly)

Hi,

I've tried the Google Chrome browser with my GMail account recently with the following plugins:

Google Talk Plugin v2.0.6.0
Google Talk Plugin Video Accelerator v0.1.43.7

and I was amazed how great it works. Give it a try. http://www.google.com/talk/. I hope they come out with a Google Talk version for Linux shortly since for now it's only accessible through a browser.

Kind regards,

Eric

Hi guys,

I wanted to take the time to make a post in here, as I realized that Linux users enjoy our site a lot.

I'm the founder of a video chat website: http://www.faceflow.com, in which you can have free video chat / video conferencing over the web.
I recently received an email from a Linux user saying:

"
I run a linux based distro which hasn't got good skype support; unable to use an
installed video chat program, we stumbled across Faceflow and after a few
minutes we were up and running with smooth video.
"

With that said, we'll make sure to consider and optimize our apps for Linux in the future.

Thank you
Dany
