Video Capture at specific times from TV Tuner Card

Hi :)

I would like to capture my favorite TV program everytime it's on, regardless of whether I manually start the recording or not. I have a WinTV-GO card and I have finally (woohoo) got xawtv working. Any app suggestions, or script, or anything are welcome. My setup is Slack 8.1, xawtv 3.85, wintv-Go Hauppage Card, in the US using regular Cable (Whatever ATT is now, something like Comcast or something).

Also, any suggestions (examples would be great too!) on the format to use for my $HOME/.xawtv config file would be great, I don't even know where to start on the syntax for that.

:)

Thanks!

if you fancy getting your hands ditry i've got one i wrote for myself which downloads tv listings from t'net (uk of course, so you'd need to modify it and sets a timer via atd to reocrd with mencoder. it *might* be at http://thirtythreeandathird.net/simple if not, add a .pl and if still not i'll put it there tonight. you so know you want to learn a little perl.... i'll post my xawtv file later too, it's a doddle to use.

alternatively try freevo, but i don't really like that, too pampering and fancy i thought. writing your own tiny batch file for an at job is a doddle though (similar to cron but AT a time, not every so often...)
