via 8237 AMD64 getting sound to work /Fedora

Hey i am having real problems with sound. I can't get it to work is the main problem. I tried the alsa software and then i tried downloading the stuff from the via arena page and i got this file that has a .8a extension???

what do i do with that. does anyone else have Fedora Core 2 with a MSI K8T Neo motherboard using via 8237 chip??? That can give me a helping hand. I really want sound very much so I work a lot so i don't have a lot of time so if someone did hold my hand hehehehe that would be ok by me

later i could use help with that too
