Angry Vhosts on RH 8.0


ive tryied everything from searching this site , apache docs and still cant get it to work....last thing ive tryied :


NamevirtualHost *

<VirtualHost *>
ServerAdmin webmaster@mydomain.com
DocumentRoot /var/www/html
ServerName www.mydomain.com

still doesnt work at all ..help

PS: the dns is already setup for the forum.mydomain.com , so cant be it

You need to be a bit more specific. What isn't working? Is www.mydomain.com working but not forum.mydomain.com? Are they both not working? What error is apache giving you?

i get this

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Reason: You're speaking plain HTTP to an SSL-enabled server port.
Instead use the HTTPS scheme to access this URL, please.


Hint: https://www.mydomain.com/

Make sure that apache is listening on port 80. Sounds like it's only listening on the https port (443) What happens when you use "https://" rather than "httpd://"?

Make sure that your Bindaddress directive is uncommented ie:
BindAddress *

Other than that, your virtual host syntax looks fine, so I think your problem may be elsewhere.

Again, do both url's fail or just one?

FIXED.....

if you are getting the bad request error , here is the fix

change this below on your htttpd.conf


Include conf.d/*.conf

to:

Include conf.d/ssl.conf
Include conf.d/perl.conf
Include conf.d/php.conf
