very annoying printer problem, 'error 49.4C02'

I'm trying to print from Debian (testing) to HP LaserJet p3005. But most applications in Debian cause the printer to display 'error 49.4C02 power off then on'. it is very very frustrating
LibreOffice, however, seems to print fine.

Can someone please help me?
thanks.

This website has a step by step procedure to follow to isolate the problem.

Google search for "error 49.4C02" will find more reading on the subject.

thanks, I had been searching google for long time about it. most say firmware upgrade would solve it. however, there is no such error when printing from Windows in Vbox. and I didn't have the error before, some Debian upgrade messed it up (or perhaps upgrade to 64bit Debian, can't remember).
also LibreOffice doesn't have any problems printing even in Debian. so, I'd avoid upgrading firmware (esp. because its not my printer).
your website mentions disabling "Postscript Passthrough", I'll try that (hopefully there is such option in Linux too).
