Version difference


I applied lates rpm on my base RedHat 9 OS. When I do "uname -a"/"uname -r", I see older version where as I see new version in /usr/src directory. Is it normal or am I missing somethin?

Pls. help.

normally you'll need to update lilo and reboot, so:

# /sbin/lilo
# reboot

but I'm not a RedHat user so I don't know how those precompiled
kernel packages work
