version 10lts

I downloaded the new version of ubuntu 10 Instaling it I found was not difficult. A few moments later I discovered I could not boot into windows. After I choose windows it blinks and brings back the menu. I am sure I chose the wrong option when it asked what I wanted to do about grub. Since I was not sure what or where I should choose I followed it's instruction which I think was to put grub in all the sections it listed. Big mistake I think. Is there anyway to save it short of redoing both OSs.

Perhaps if you could post your /boot/grub/menu.lst file, there may be something there that could be found to be corrected.

Thanks but it was found, on another list, to be a genuine bug in the grub program. It seems they started counting from 1 instead of zero. The temporary workaround is to edit the windows line and make it say hd0 or hd1. I may have that slightly wrong but any long term linux user should be able ti figure it out. I haven't tested it yet but it seems you would have to do this each time you wanted to boot windows. They should have it fixed before to long. You could read more about it on launchpad under errors or bugs.
