Verify patching


I patched a linux kernel 2.6.28 with lttng patch.
Now I have two folder of linux patched and unpatched.

How can I verify whether the linux is patched or unptahced(original version)?

try listing by mod dates, if in one directory a particular file is older than in the other, you know which is unpatched.

But is there any command using which I can verify a patched linux?
Is there any log which might be getting produced after patching(using quilt)?

they'd have different version numbers... they couldn't exist together if they didn't. knowing the version that shipped with your distro, it's not that. so you'd really need to know if it was -using- the patched version, yah? for that, there's a link in /usr i think, been a while, to the kernel modules n stuff, install of the patches should have changed the links to point to the new patch, so that when you reload the kernel it loads the new files. you can see the links in 'ls -l' i think.
