Ventrilo?

Hi!
I have heard rumors about it shall be possible to use ventrilo on an GNU/Linux computer, but don't know if I shall use wine or cedega(same thing?) or VMWare I heard something about for a few weeks ago?
Anyone who have tried? and know if it works.

Edit: I have tried using wine I could connect to a server and so but I couldn't hear anything neither talk or I could talk but the microphone didnt react :P or if it just was ventrilo that didnt react that I dont know

Thanks in advance

I only used ventrillo in windows and haven't on linux so I can't help you much with that. Wine is for normal programs, like ventrillo. Winex is for games only. So if it works with either it's wine. VMware emulates windows, it runs windows in linux which is a bit slower maybe but it probably works. It's not free. There's also qemu which is free and runs windows on linux.

I don't like to be the guy who says "don't use that use this" but in this case I will be. Teamspeak has both linux clients and servers and works great.

Have you tried that?

Yes I have tried TeamSpeak and I must say, OMG it really sucks the sound quality is very bad compared to Ventrilo, I gota wait for the Linux client.

Well actually it could just be the sound quality chosen for the server you were using. Ventrilo also has options for the server to run between 8Khz and 44Khz. At 8, the quality isn't so good.. =)
