I have written a program to change camera settings and take photographs with a UVC camera. For this I use V4L2.

First question:
After all the necessary preparation, I use select to take the photos.

select has a parameter for timeout.

What are the possible reasons for a timeout to occur??


the situation

Before I had a code that didnt set the settings properly but could take photographs. I modified the code and now the settings can be changed but now sometimes select finish with a timeout. I am wondering what could be the reasons for the change.

Before I set the settings before start the capturing. Now I do it after. other than that I didnt modify the code.

In any case, what could be making the timeout to occur I wonder

Well, to comment, this time out on select keeps happening, but when I compile the same program for another architecture (Arm Cortex A) it runs without timing out...
