UTC times imported into kontact after intrepid upgrade

just upgraded to kubuntu intrepid, and when i open kontact/kalendar, my appointment times are displayed as UTC time instead of in my timezone. the ics file appears to have the times in UTC (though it was like this in earlier versions). i can't seem to find a way to make the times display in my timezone. any ideas?
