Ut2k3

My friend just got a windows copy of UT2K3 and i've looked for linux binaries to get it to work on linux as well, but in vain, i cant find them anywhere. Are they relesed yet at all, or is their release date known at all?
Thanks

They're on the 3 CD of the game. You'll find them there.

Have fun.

You'll need a GeForce card...

pyropenguin 11-14-2002 11:20 PM

ive read you need a geforce card, because the drivers for the radeon cards are openGL retarded in linux, has anyone heard any different way to maybe get the right drivers or alother way to play with a non geforce card?

Ya i have a GeForce, but my friend won't borrow the cd...
I'll have to wait few days more... ooh well...

WooHoo! after some trouble installing, i finally got ut2k3 to work on Linux.
Damn it's a nice game, probably most detailed game i ever saw (I'm not a big gamer), it's very nice. Too bad there are no new weapons, only the standard ones from UT and then gameplay is the same, it's just graphics that are dramatically improved. It gets boring quickly, but it's still a very nice game, but with all that details i'm not able to run it properly on my athlon 1600+ 512MB DDR ram. Thats right, it's slow, I had to change resolution from 1024x760 to 640x480 put 16bit color and turn off high details and now it runs smoothly, but damn... one needs a VERY fast computer to enjoy UT2K3 to the fullest and it takes almost 3GB of space!!! I have no HD space left after installing ut2k3...
As soon as i get bored of it i'll have to remove it, and gonna stick with playing RTCW multiplayer instead of ut2k3 multiplayer...
well, just my comment about this game, and thanks to Epic, we have a Linux version! I hope other companies will take in consideration making linux games too...

Hmmm, I wonder why Loki went bankrupt... LINUX GEEKS DIDNT BUY LINUX GAMES.
People should start buying software for Linux if they want more software ( commercial )

When i think about it i just borrowed and installed the game, didn't buy it
And then i wonder why companies don't port games to linux
I will buy it tho... Just to support Epic and Linux ports.
