/usr/local .... - Operation not permitted...

Hi,

I've just made a transition from Windows to Linux, and always have problems installing stuff.

This is my problem now.
I try to install the getopt function for my linux, but it spit out this comment when i do the
'make install'

/usr/local/bin : Operation not permitted
/usr/local/man/man1 : Operation not permitted

also, i have almost a similar problem when install a version control app. , RCS.

Does it have to do with how the permission is set for that directory?

Many a thx.

Or you can just use "exit" to terminate the root shell and return to your previous session.
