/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgdl-1

Hi, I'm trying to build gnome-build 0.12. "./configure" runs fine, but "make" gives me this:
Code:
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgdl-1
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I've got gdl-0.8.10-3.fc4 and gdl-devel-0.5.0-1, and "ld -gdl" works fine.

Does anyone know how to make "ld -lgdl-1" work, or "link" -lgdl-1 to -gdl?

It appears from the "cannot find' that it thinks your "-lgdl-1" is a file argument rather than a flag. I wonder if its confused by the second "-"? If you're sure this "gdl-1" exists maybe typing it as "-lgdl\-1" will work as the "\" will make it take the "-" litterally?

Code:
$ ld -lgdl\-1
ld: cannot find -lgdl-1
$ ld "-lgdl\-1"
ld: cannot find -lgdl\-1
$ ld -lgdl
ld: cannot find -lgdl
