How about reading the wine
documentation? I'm not even sure wine can do this anymore since they've changed their configuration structure. And even if it can it was never recommended.
However I've personally, successfully run some programs that were installed on a mounted Window partition under wine even without changing the default linux installation. As long as the program is self-contained and doesn't require access to the Windows registry to run (such as for registration info) it should work, but you may have to reset your config options. This is because wine may be running the binary from the original installation, but it's using the Linux registry to do so.
