Using RPM Libraries for Source Installs

Is there a way to direct a source installation to the correct RPM libraries? More specifically when I try to install Sound Juicer from source it yells at me saying it cannot find gstreamer. I have the gstreamer RPM installed so I am wondering if I can direct the source to the RPM's installed files. I know there is an RPM for Sound Juicer but I'd prefer the source.
