Using Mysql withe the Gnu GPL

Hi dear, some questions about the implications of the GNU GPL license, to use Mysql.

If a software, wich do not be use the FLOSS exception, use Mysql : Does the GPL will implie to license the software to be gpl licensed.
Or can the software be distribued without the Mysql, using the ad hoc Gnu Gpl exception? In this cas, the user would have to have mysql on this cumputer.

Or maybe, can I use a older mysql (LGPL) to use it easly?

Thanks,

I don't quite understand, but I believe you're asking if a proprietary program (or, in this case, a non-GPL program) can interface with a MySQL server. If that's so, the answer is yes. Now, to take MySQL source code and incorporate it into your program and not release the program under the GPL, that is a violation.

OK, thanks, it was the question. But they change their license few times ago, from LGPL to GPL with FLOSS exception : no difference for me?
