i'm pretty sure the only tv drivers for linux are the bttv drivers, which should be with all new distros. check /etc/modules.conf to see if there's any reference to bttv.

This driver is only for the Brooktree 878/848 chpisets, which is by far far far the most common chip, set. check the mini howto

http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/B...HOWTO-0.3.html

assuming that it is the right chipset. I've looked on line and all i can find out abuot it is that it 'tv in/out might not be supported under linux'

Problems with my bttv 878 Prolink Capture Card

I am having some problems to make Linux Mandrake 10.0 recognize my bttv 878 PixelView capture card (Rev 4C). The command "dmesg" shows me that it is installed. But "drakconf" cannot dealt with it.

parport0: Printer, HEWLETT-PACKARD DESKJET 640C
lp0: using parport0 (polling).
lp0: console ready
bttv: driver version 0.9.12 loaded
bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture
bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).

PCI: Sharing IRQ 10 with 0000:00:0b.1
bttv0: Bt878 (rev 2) at 0000:00:0b.0, irq: 10, latency: 32, mmio: 0xd7000000
bttv0: using: Prolink Pixelview PV-BT878P+ (Rev.4C,8E) [card=70,insmod option]
bttv0: gpio: en=00000000, out=00000000 in=00ffffff [init]
bttv0: using tuner=41

bttv0: registered device radio0
bttv0: PLL: 28636363 => 35468950 .. ok
bttv0: add subdevice "remote0"

And all drivers need are loaded as it is shown bellow:

tuner 17292 0
tvaudio 21612 0
bttv 146956 0
video-buf 20388 1 bttv
i2c-algo-bit 9512 1 bttv

parport_pc 32832 1
parport 38952 2 lp,parport_pc
md5 3872 1
ipv6 232416 18

But "drakconf" can't watch tv in my computer and neither my cam can show any image...

My .xsession-errors show me two errors that it could be the problem, but I can't how to fix it up:

kio (KIOConnection): ERROR: Header has invalid size (-1)
kio (KLauncher): ERROR: SlavePool: No communication with slave.
