Using Evolution with Firefox

Okay . . . I've gotten so far in using Firefox to pick up links from Evolution, but not I'm stuck. Following advice on the web I set Firefox as the default web broswers in Genome Control Panel. At this point firefox will open a link I click on it Evolution so long as I already have a Firefox window open. If I don't already have a Firefox window open Evolution will open a Mozilla window.

Secondly, every time I click on a new link it opens a new window rather than a tab.

How do I fix either or both of these annoyances?
