Using distro specific applications in other distros

I was wondering something. Lets say I wanted to get, for example, YaST or SaX working in Mandrake or harddrake working in Suse, etc. Is it possible to do? I can't really see a reason for it but it would be fun to try, if possible.

Depends on the file structure, also the systems would need to be aware of whats already installed, and where. Also there could be version compatibility problems, since you'd need to keep multiple systems in sync.
