Using bootdisk to enable cd-rom boot

Hi guys,

I have an external usb cd-rom drive but for some reason i cannot boot off it. I also have a usb floppy drive which i can boot off. Is there anything available that allows me to boot from the floppy drive and then boot from the cd-rom drive?

Cheers in advance

Matt Phillips

P.s. I have googled numerous strings but can find much that will do what i need.

hmm this will happen only if your bios have a option to boot through a usb external cdrom asfar i have not seen such option
the other option for you is to do a network install though u are able to boot through floppydrive and that is enough for a nfs install

I assume our attempting to load SUSE. you can make a floppy boot disk to load the linux kernel.
to much to explain here but this should point you in the right direction. SBM (smart boot mgr) is good but don't know if it will work on USB.

Good Luck
