Using BlackBox
1) Is anybody Know how to put a run command in blackbox like a run program or something......... cuz i am lost trying to do that
2)put the tranparency in the menus.... 3)start BlackBox when i start the windowmaker........(In an AUTO WAY of course). |
1) as in add an entry to the menu? you should have a file ~/.blackbox/menu which you can edit, or install the bbconf application which can edit the menus for you
2) not possible. try openbox, waimea etc... 3) windowmaker and blackbox are both window managers they can not run concurrently |
hmmmmmm i mean i dont wanna run the windowmaker but i got to run it first to go to blackbox i wanna know if i can run blackbox without running the windowmaker first .......(or fluxbox, waimea, openbox.whatever)

What are you using to log in? I (think I) have the kdm login gui, and all my window managers like KDE, Gnome, WindowMaker, IceWM, Fluxbox, etc are listed in the drop down menu. :)

for question 3. go into ur home directory and search for a file .xinitrc, or something similar. at the end, there should be a command which says exec /usr/bin/wmaker $NOCPP or somethign similar. comment this out. and write add the line
exec blackbox that works for me |

2) waima(sp) - don't think this is possible in openbox. 3) you're going to want blackbox in /etc/gdm/Session (I think that's where it is) anyway - from command line - as root - type gdmsetup. Or from within gnome use the start->programs-> then look for gdm set up. on a site note. did you install blackbox from rpm or source. was it installed during installation of redhat8?? |

; ) As for #1, not sure if you mean the blackbox menu, starting an xterm, using gkrellm 'run' plugin, using key-binds (bbkeys), running it at blackbox startup (~/.xinitrc or ~/.xsession), and so forth....maybe a clarification woul help? |
I think he means he wants a Run... prompt.
Like in windows (Start>Run), or other WMs. I haven't been able to figure it out in openbox. But then again I can't figure out a lot of things. |
