using bin/cue files in linux

Hello!

I wan't to be able to use bin/cue files in my Mandrake 9.2 dist. I read in an thread here at linuxquestions.org that it could be done with CDemu. I downloaded it but i cant seem to install it. I'm unsure if i have the kernel sources installed correctly. Anyone who have some spare time?

thanks!/ Jonatan

this might work

Code:
mkdir /mnt/cdimage
Code:
mount -o loop cdimage.bin /mnt/cdimage

Also, if you're looking to play a movie from a Goldenhawk type CD image (a .cue/.bin file set) you can just open the .bin file directly in MPlayer as it supports this.

Hmm.. when i type that command in console(as root) i get the response

*translation from swedish*
You have to add the filesystemtype
*end translation*

what is the filesystem on an ordinary CD bought at an store? ISO****?

I found what file system it is but now i get
mount -o loop -t iso9660 /mnt/win_c2/starre.bin /mnt/cdimage:

mount: fel filsystemstyp, felaktig flagga, felaktigt superblock
på /dev/loop0, eller för många monterade filsystem

Translation: incorrect filesystemtype, incorrect flag, incorrect superblock(mount)
in /dev/loop0, or to many mounted filesystems...

What now? any ideas?

you can not mount a bin file, as it is not a single partition unlike an iso file. if you are trying to access data inside it (rather than playing it as a vcd) then you will want to keep trying with cdemu, feel free to post errors or ask for help about installing it.

An alternate is to use 'bchunk'.. it converts bins to isos, which can then be mounted like your trying to...

bchunk name.bin name.cue NAMEOFISOTOMAKE

Voila!

Heres some idears:

Also: I SEEM to remember mounting bins is possible w/ another solution, and Im in the process of trying to re-find it....

UPDATE:

http://cdemu.sourceforge.net/

This is what you want, it seems to make 8 fake cdroms that can be used to mount bin images. Testing it now.

i am trying to play a bin/cue set files [mplayer movie.bin] but at the point where the movie is about to start everything just stops and the movie output window turns grey, after about 30 s this error message shows,

Too many audio packets in the buffer: (3659 in 8390087 bytes).
Maybe you are playing a non-interleaved stream/file or the codec failed?
For AVI files, try to force non-interleaved mode with the -ni option.

i've tryed to play it in other players i even redownloaded the movi it is a svcd, any ideas whts wrong?
