using aim express w/ linux firefox and java installed?


Hi,

I have firefox .9.1 and java installed and i'd like to use aim express on it. However, it won't load. is aim express only for windows computers?

You need java to be installed as a plugin to get it to work. Btw, what's wrong with using Gaim as your instant messenger? It supports AOL, MSN and many others.

i just wanted to test the java compatibility in linux.

It looks as though this is one of those "Windows Only" type programs. Try opening it in Konqueror - set to Konqueror to identify itself as IE 5.5 or 6.0 and make sure that Java is enabled in Konq. That may make it work.
