user password


In the Redhat server , I will force the user change the password regularly by "chage -d0 userid", could suggest how to prevent the user use the simple password eg. 123456 ? thx.

If your system is using OpenLDAP in it's auth scheme you need to look at slapo-ppolicy
http://www5f.biglobe.ne.jp/~inachi/o...ppolicy.5.html

These allow you to select elements to enforce compley password, password age (min and max), length, prevention of re-use of a password, etc..
