CLI *IS* a user interface.

I'm assuming however you mean a GUI (Graphical User Interface).

Both KDE and Gnome GUIs are available out of the box but does not have to be installed. I'm assuming your support team installed it.

If you have console access you could try typing "startx" after login to see if a GUI comes up.

If you have only terminal access you can still get X Windows but need an X windows environment. A commercial one I've used for years is Exceed (lets you have UNIX/Linux X Windows on an MS Windows workstation.) A free one I ran into not long ago is Xming though it doesn't seem it does everything.

However if you're not comfortable with CLI it doesn't seem you should be "writing code".

Don't ask people to email you off the forums, that kinda defeats the purpose of said forums.

Don't put urgent in thread titles, as it doesn't make your thread any more deserving of a response than anyone else's.

Use descriptive thread titles.

If X Windows isn't installed, then you won't have a graphical user interface. Maybe you should ask them to install X, if they're allowed to do that.

I adjusted you thread title so that it reflects the problem. Please don't mark your threads as urgent because there is no priority given to any threads here. Volunteers will answer your questions when they have the time.

There is a user interface installed by default on RHEL. If you don't have a graphical user interface installed, then your system will have been setup to use the text based interface.
