WAN Connected directory?

I was curious if there existed a piece of open source software that would allow me to synch the address book of mail clients like outlook & thunderbird to a WAN connected directory server?

You do realize that we have auto bumps that occur every 16 and 32 hours if you have no responses. And our rules state not to bump until after 24 hours... so please be a little more patient in the future.

And I don't get your title compared to your question? You looking for an LDAP server or some software client to use to update your LDAP server by some means..

auto-bumpage huh? cool...

Ok, so basically I want to attach some form of directory store to the WAN that will allow me to synch an address book to it. I also want to use this directory store to manage mailing lists.

So yeah, maybe I'm not looking for an LDAP server specifically. I guess I'm asking about the front and back ends to something that will accomplish this.

Okay then.. what your looking for is an LDAP server.. ;)

Probably the most used in the open sourced world would be.. www.openldap.org

ok, I have worked with LDAP in the past and found it challenging....

Do you know of a user-friendly front-end that will help me accomplish this task?
