use of TASK_UNTERRUPTIBLE process state

HI !
I am not able to know what's the exact use of TASK_UNINTERRUPTIBLE state of a LInux process . I know that this state is somehow related to the working of device drivers(but i am not sure).
Plese tell me exactly when a process goes in this state and how it comes out of this state.

Waiting for a positive response ....

Regards,
