Use both IMAP and SMTPD MTA with Maildir type inbox directory

Hello Linux gurus, I have been running a SMTPD MTA (port 25) for several years with no problems (other than killing the SPAM ). I am using Maildir type inbox directories. I use a webmail application to directly access my inboxes and all is peachy good. I am running PHP Nuke that only uses POP or IMAP accounts. The question is: how do I run the IMAPD daemon such that mail deposited in my Maildir directories is accessible by IMAP? Please advise, David.
