use Amarok like RealPlayer...???

I'm trying to use amaroK like Real PLayer in the sense that in Real Player you can give it a URL:

www.musicserverXXXXX.com:8080, for example and it'll connect to that stream and play the music.

Anybody out there that knows how this works with amarok?

Realplayer uses .ram files. This is a proprietary format so you probably can't use anything else unless it's really old then there might be some codecs around.

If the format is ok you can probably just play an url like that.

OK, but where do I type in the url???

I tried in add location. It looks like amarok is more for your local stuff though. If the server supports it you can also do save link and then try to play the file that you downloaded.
