USB Ports

My printer is connected to my computer using a USB Port. When I try to configure it, linux will only look at my parralel port.

Any idea how I can overcome this?

1. make sure your printer is supported under the Linux USB Subsystem, then 2. install a recent kernel with USB support.
The 2.2 series have support (partially backported from 2.3 and 2.4), the newer 2.4 series kernel have way better support.

Try to get the messages from dmesg and /var/log/messages about the USB parts, it's usefull when posting errors.
