Usb microphone with Linux Mint
2 Attachment(s)
I was using Fedora with Pulseaudio, and my usb cam/microphone was working fine. Now I'm using Linux Mint 14.1, and I haven't been able to get the microphone working yet. The microphone is recognized though. Pulseaudio is running. However when I run alsamixer, I see a lot of mixers instead of the 3 mixers I had with pulseaudio in Fedora.
I included two screenshots, alsamixer for "capture view" and gui mixer for gnome/cinnamon. Linux sees it through lsusb as well. The GUI mixer is not detecting any input from the usb microphone nor does skype. |
I got personally different behaviour between ubuntu 10.04 and archbang re audio.
ubuntu needed some linux backports modules (asus k51ae). So, no wonder you have different behaviour in 2 different systems. look at the alsa version: different? modules loaded different? overtake the alsa setup from fedora into mint? hopefully it helps. |
I've got USB speakers to work with Mint, just using the Gnome tool. The microphone is marked on: is the other device marked off? You might find this useful
