Usb drive shows up twice when it's in fstab

I just upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 and have an external usb drive which is always connected to my laptop. I have it set in fstab to statically mount at /media/MyBook, but in 9.10 it is showing up twice under connected media and places. One is showing the orange USB drive icon and the other is showing the standard drive icon. Previous to 9.10, ubuntu would simply mount it and show only one icon.

If I remove the fstab option, it only shows the usb icon, but will not automount (I have usb automount disabled, hence the fstab entry). It seems as soon as I put the entry in fstab, it creates a second icon, even though it actually shows the "usb" one as mounted when I run "mount -a."

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

If you want the fstab entry to control mount/umount, you need to make the device name persistent. Here is an article that should help you accomplish that.

Sorry for the confusion, but the fstab entries does work. The problem is that it creates its own "drive icon" as a mount point in addition to the usb drive icon created by the device. I do have a persistent name set as /dev/mybook, but I use the uuid in fstab:

Code:
# MyBook
UUID=e48b88d3-a839-43f2-b98b-8b3dc8e0eb7f	/media/MyBook	xfs	rw,user,exec,noatime,nodiratime,logbufs=8	0	0
I have attached a screenshot of what it looks like, if that helps.
