Ups

Hi everyone!

I have one big problem!

I have 6 machines on 2 UPS(SMART UPS 1400) and I want to make a server shutdown to administrate the power on the others servers. Give me a solution!

Thanks!

I think it is best if you use SNMP to read the power of the UPS. Just use an SNMP get to get the power from the UPS.

did you try a google search? or http://freshmeat.net ?

Look at the UPS readme http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/UPS-HOWTO.html and also check out NUT, Network UPS Tool, http://www.exploits.org/nut/.

There are other tools besides NUT, but I feel NUT is most popular.

There's plenty of documentation on the specifics of implementing the system.
