Uploading web pages; get "access forbidden" when I load them in browser!
EEK! I never expected that to happen.
My web site files, which I moved from my WIndows partition, I updated. I then uploaded them via ftp to my site server. When I use Mozilla to load my site, I get errors all over the place, saying access is forbidden (#403 I think...) SOmewhere, somehow, all my files now locked down in some goofy way. I know Linux is good with security, but I never expected it to attach those attributes to the web server (which is Apache)! How can I eliminate the restriction? Thanks!! |
make sure the directories are the correct permissions, the files you are accessing are the correct permissions, and that you have indexes enabled in the httpd.conf file.
