upgrading python version from 2.3 to 2.4 in fc3

I want to upgrade python from version 2.3 to 2.4
As my concern is to make the entire distribution build,i would rather like to know if i will upgrade, anythinig critical is going to happen or not?
I mean when upgrading python its asking for weird dependencies that are not resolvable for FC3.
Can anyone provide me with a solution upgrading python dependency
