upgraded to redhat 8

I've upgraded to redhat 8 because I bought a new hard drive and I ran redhat 7.3 before. I run apache, mysql, named, xmail and pure-ftp. I used to enter my startup lines in /etc/rc.d/rc.local for apache, named, mysql and xmail... but every time i reboot it wont start those up. I still have my other drive with all my old configs and such and i entered them just how i would before... and they used to start up fine.

I hunted through the documentation and investigated ntsysv and such. I got named to start up on it's own in the configuration but xmail, apache aren't listed in there. But mysql is, i've turned it on but it still doesnt want to start up either.

i still consider myself a :P but i learn fast and usually find the answer here in the forum, but i didnt see much at all in regards to rc.local. I have no idea why it's not working.

thanks in advance for any help

I'm not sure how Redhat works with /etc/rd.d, but check your old drive with "ls -l /etc/rc.d/rcx.d" where x is one of the numbers and see if there are symlinks to /etc/rc.d/rc.local in any of the rcx.d directories. These are run when you start up, and symlinks might be needed. I hope this is clear, but I'm not too sure myself. If you can't get it to work, then post the output of "less /etc/inittab" and I'll try to help more
