I have just upgraded to 12.4 form 11.10. But when
I start up the first screen after the password is the
freevo screen. I can't get past it. I go down to the shutdown button, just as i did in 11.10 but when i hit enter nothing happens. I can't get out of the freevo screen. please help

when you first start up yaou are immediatley taken to the freevo menu.
At this point hit control+alt+F2 This will bring you to the command terminal. Next you must hit alt+F7 This will send
you to the sign on screen. Once you sign on you will be sent to the regular desktop and you're in. To stop freevo
from starting every time you start up; Go to dash, then synaptic package manager; look up installed programs on your
system and uninstall all freevo programs from your computer. You will now be returned to your normal startup. I am the
one who made the original post, and I wish someone had been able to tell me this solution. Maybe this problem was
too simple for all you geeks to help me out. Thanks for nothing--Glenmore
