Upgrade Xorg : Lose Ati?
I have Gentoo installed on my machine, with the 3D acceleration on my Radeon 9200 working flawlessly. Only problem is it is Xorg 6.7.0r2 and there is now 6.8.0 which I would like to upgrade, but if I do, will I lose all my 3D accleration because ATI doesnt officially support 6.8.0 yet?
Thnx

Finally, ATi really has got to step it up... I've always loved their cards, but now that I'm using Linux, I'm beginning to lose faith. O well....

If you're running a ATI 9200 card, the Xorg DRI driver supports it, you dont need ATI's fglrx driver for accelerated 2d and 3d. The DRI driver doesn't have all the features of the fglrx driver ( ati won't give the developers the docs they need) but it is far more stable and open source.

Hm, this would be great! I have the Radeon 9700 Pro and I have the same problem... all the way since I installed Fedora Core 3
Hope ATI finally does something!!
Or does anyone know a way for the Radeon 9700 already?
